“Lloyd. The slender, elegant figures are plastically modelled but with a slight tendency to schematize the draperies. The predominate the compositions are occasionally heightened by vivid touches of red. The yellow is as flat as the artist could possibly make it, filling in the shadows as much as possible, but yet keeping the high-light dot as large as it an be without being too screeny. Gold covers the backgrounds of the full-page miniatures, while the scenes introduced into the text are sometimes painted with a deep blueprocedures contribute to the diversity of the general effect.”
