Sue Hunt is known as a painter and printmaker and has exhibited her work widely, both in the UK and abroad.She has had several awards from the Welsh Arts Council one of which has taken her to India in the early 90’s and helped to initiate the Wales /Rajasthan exchange. In 2004 she was invited back there for an exhibition at the Jawaha Kala Kendre in Jaipur.
As a teacher she has worked in Norwich school of Art and for many years in Cardiff school of Art and Design where she is a .5 senior lecturer. Sue is a member of V-6 and has shown widely with them, most recently in collaboration with Indian and UK artists, and also with Vario an Australian originated tour of collated prints. She has recently had a major one person show with Denise Yapp Fine Art, Monmouth, England.
In the last year, Sue has been involved with several new projects. She was invited to make new work for the ‘Stad yr Ystad’ ‘Estate of the Estate’ exhibition at Penpont, Brecon, Powys, where she collaborated with Tom Piper to explore digitally the dynamic nature of large scale imagery extracted from observed small scale drawings. With the aid Arts council funding she also had the opportunity to work in Edinburgh Printworkshop where she made new work, including a set of solar plate etchings. Sue has exhibited in ‘Intaglio’at St Davids Hall, Cardiff and also in the 15th International Mini print exhibition in Tallin. She has a one person exhibition coming up and will be part of the Wales /Rajasthan exhibition in Jawaha Kala Kendra, in Jaipur in the new year.
